- Offers a “slightly smaller” initial Life Settlement sum
HOWEVER
- Coupled to the Life Settlement, a portion of the death benefit will be attached for 3 years.
- It will be a varied percentage, graded down over the 3 years:
Example Case: Client wanted reinsurance, but was uninsurable
A $3M dollar policy was awarded a Life Settlement of $1M
- 1st year > $900,000 L.S. + $1M DB
- 2nd year > $700,000 DB
- 3rd year > $350,000 DB
- No additional underwriting needs to take place
